About this image

BLUEbridgeJAZZseries* is truly 'jazz' at its best: A year-long set of events highlighting outstanding local and regional musicians, from seasoned masters to more-than-worthy young giants! ...The premise is to engage communities in an array of historic venues, provide a platform for artists of various mediums to collaborate, and empower our youth with opportunities to develop and present their individual ideas in a public format - this series has it all! Though only in its founding year, the vision is powerful and clear: To build a bridge that brings people together, a sustainable gift that enriches local culture and engages the creative development of our youth, one with artistic integrity that keeps true to the great African-American Classical Idiom we call jazz. With unwavering commitment to always remain worthy, BLUEbridgeJAZZseries* is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Charles Clarke, a great and kind gentleman, a scholar, and a true lover of jazz. While there are two exciting events remaining in the 2014 season, next year's series is already in the works - beginning with a Black History Month 'Drum Summit', and International Jazz Day Celebration Cincinnati!! April 30th, we plan to start off the second season 2015 loud, proud and clear! To finish out this year - 2014 - you can look forward to: ● Event no.4- Tribute to Cincinnati's Own Jazz Masters: featuring Jim Anderson bass, Melvin Broach drums, and Marc Fields trombone (with William Menefield piano, Rob Dixon sax, and lead musician Mike Wade trumpet). Performance in the historic theater at The Carnegie in Covington, KY on Sunday, October 12th. Doors open at 6pm, performance begins at 7pm. Come early and view the current art on display in the bizzantine galleries above.
