About this image

How would a music sound if we could gather the most refined and beautiful South American traditions with jazz, classical colors and an open-minded fusion with no style? We would get Andres Beeuwsaert's music! As a matter of fact, with Andres Beeuwsaert's music, words are unnecessary and perhaps downgrading. Listening to his music, one could probably find some "touches" from artists such as Lyle Mays or Keith Jarret...but in his own South American way, Andres is always recreating music!! That's probably why Andres Beeuwsaert has already played with great musicians like Ivan Lins, Joe Lovano, Steve Khan, Hugo Fattoruso, Charly Garcia, Pedro Aznar (ex-musician of the Pat Metheny Group), Mono Fontana, David Lebon, Fats Fernandez, the Brazilian singer Tati Parra, guitarist Yotam Silberstein, Leo Genovese & Javier Malosetti, among many others. Nevertheless, Andres Beeuwsaert is not just a great pianist, but a composer of sublime and captivating masterpieces. And he also performs some of the best compositions of Lyle Mays, Dino Saluzzy, Carlos Aguirre, Hugo Fatorusso, Eduardo Mateo, Léa Freire, Claus Ogerman, Mário Laginha, Javier Cornejo, and Simón Díaz. Andrew's participation in Aca Seca Trio deserves a separate chapter; a special one! Andres Beeuwsaert, Juan Quintero & Mariano Cantero founded the Aca Seca Trio in 2001. The musical syncretism produced by ACA SECA has already been praised by musicians like Pat Metheny, Egberto Gismonti, Nathan East, Joe Lovano, Bob James, Steve Khan, Pedro Aznar & Luis Alberto Spinetta. The band has released "Aca Seca Trio" (2003), "Avenido" (2006) & "Ventanas" (2009), "Hermanos" (2014, Aca Seca trio + Diego Schissi Quintet). In 2005 and in 2015, ACA SECA awarded the important prize of Konex, dedicated to 100 outstanding Argentinian personalities of the last decades (also won by Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Mercedes Sosa, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Charly García, and Eduardo Falú). During the last 15 years, ACA SECA has been performing in the US, France, Italy, Spain, China, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Venezuela, Ecuador and in their native country, Argentina. In 2014 Aca Seca Trio made his first US tour, performing first at the Spoleto Jazz Festival (Charleston) and offering several brilliant concerts in New York, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. About Aca Seca Trío: -Pat Metheny: "(...) those guys seem to be great musicians. So nice to hear so many chords!" -Egberto Gismonti: "“What wealth our continent has! I congratulate the band. Beautiful music produced by the best musicians.” -Steve Khan: "I had the great privilege of attending the first concert in New York, and the USA, by Argentina's extraordinary group, Aca Seca Trio (...). They performed many of my favorites pieces, and everything they played was beautifully executed and received with excitement and love for an adoring audience. I greatly admire these three wonderful musicians for their vision, and the courage to pursue it, even if logic would seem to be saying to them, "you can't possibly succeed playing music that is neither 'this' nor 'that' - but, in the end, none of this matters, because they are doing something that is, to these ears, completely unique on this earth". -BOB JAMES wrote directly to Andres Beeuwsaert (Bob James is the pianist of the super group Fourplay, with Lee Ritenour, Nathan East, Larry Carlton, Harvey Mason & Chuck Loeb): "Hi Andrés, I discovered your music from a recommendation from guitarist Steve Khan. (...). We all LOVE your music with Aca Seca Trio (...). We have become big fans!!!! Congratulations!! This is fantastic!!! Between 2001 and 2005, Andres Beeuwsaert was part of the trio of bassist Javier Malosetti, touring in France and Spain, by performing in several international festivals. From 2004 to 2009, Andres Beeuwsaert was part of the Pedro Aznar's band, recording 4 albums and touring in Spain and several Latin America countries. In fact, Andres Beeuwsaert had already been awarded "the Jazz revelation 2005" by the newspaper "Clarín Espectáculos". With a Bachelor in Composition, received in 2001 at the Universidad de La Plata, Argentina, musician Andres Beeuwsaert has become the most in demand Argentinean pianist. Between 2001-2005, Andres Beeuwsaert was part of the trio of bassist Javier Malosetti, touring in France & Spain, by performing in several international festivals. Since 2004 to 2009, Andres Beeuwsaert was a member of the Pedro Aznar's band, recording 4 albums and touring in Spain & several Latin America countries. To tell the truth, Andres Beeuwsaert had already been awarded by newspaper "Clarín Espectáculos", by being named "the Jazz revelation 2005". Recently, Andres Beeuwsaert has also shared some concerts with Leo Genovese, who was part of the Spring Quartet (with Esperanza Spalding, Jack DeJohnette & Joe Lovano). During 2015, the Andres Beeuwsaert Group was also performing at Japan & New York (playing with guitarist Yotam Silberstein). Looking into the future, Andres Beeuwsaert's plans are to perform in North America and Europe while visiting Asia and touring in South America (of course!).
