Friday 10 June 2011.
Following the huge success and critical acclaim of the Miles Davis Project Band’s sell out performances of the seminal album “Kind of Blue” in 2010, the band returned to St. James’s Piccadilly - London with a new theme of dedication to the legendary jazz trumpeter. (The Bebop Years, 1945-49.)
Nathan Hassall: alto & tenor saxes, Joe Auckland: trumpet,
John Turville: piano,
Ben Bastin: bass & with
Eric Ford: drums.
I love jazz because it swings.
I was first exposed to jazz in Houston.
I met Joe LoCascio and Bob Henschen.
The best show I ever attended was Pat Martino.
The first jazz record I bought was Time Out by the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
My advice to new listeners is to relax on 2 and 4 beats.
