About this image

This group has a very young drummer whose mother always used to say to me "George, take care of my son." That was a hard request. Anyway, this little kids name was Alvin Queen. On bass is Ernie Farrell (Alice Coltrane's brother) and on piano, the magnificent Larry Young, Jr., who sometimes played the piano superbly. And me on a brand new Mark VI tenor that Lou Donaldson gave me and said "this is what you should be playing." I think he wanted me off the alto?
