About this image

Bobby McFerrin here with Madison (daughter) singing with on the Main Stage at Toronto Jazz Festival in June 27, 2014. Bobby McFerrin gave unusual concert Spirity-you-all, which seem to be all improvised. His daughter was a good partner on the stage. The rest of the musicians were really sub par, They sounded OK together, but their solos were actually embarrassing. The people selected to sing from the audience by Bobby, were probably even a surprise to Mr. McFerrin. He had to cut them off, otherwise they would steal his show! The two black ladies (Nicole Brooks and Amina Alfred) were really excellent vocalists. Spirity-you-all featured Bobby McFerrin on vocals; Madison McFerrin on vocals; Jeff Carney – Acoustic Bass; Louis Cato – Drums/Gtr/Bass Gtr/Vocals; Goldstein, Gil – Keys; Armand Hirsch – Electric & Acoustic Guitars; David Mansfield – Violin/Mandolin/Guitars

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
