About this image

Jakob Bro and Palle Mikkelborg - two notable musicians from different generations, but with several things in common. They are both characterized by a lyrical tone and an alluring musical universe. They have constantly explored new musical possibilities - and therefore they have both put an unmistakable fingerprints on the Danish jazz. Jakob Bro's luminous talent is no longer a secret, either at home or abroad. With projects like Jakob Bro Trio, Bro / Knak, Jakob Bro Tentet, a trilogy with Lee Konitz - and much else - he is a musician who constantly develops and redefines the jazz language. So it is only natural that Bro soon publish his second trio album at the renowned German label ECM Records. At the very same company, Jakob Bro and Palle Mikkelborg only a week after this concert they will record their first album together, also as a quartet with Thomas Morgan and Jon Christensen in Rainbow Studios in Oslo. The two have through a number of years had this project in the pipeline, and the concert here and the subsequent ECM recording is in many ways the culmination of their musical friendship
